A Touching Message from Key on Jonghyun’s Death Anniversary
Six years later, SHINee member Key reminisced about Jonghyun by sharing an emotional message on his Instagram. Accompanied by past photos of the late member and current snapshots with Minho and Taemin, Key managed to move Shawols (fandom) by revealing his “what ifs.”
In his post, Key first greeted his late older brother, saying:
“It’s been a while, hyung (older brother). Today is very cold, and my bones ache, but strangely, I wanted to see my hyung on my own today.”
Current Status of Members and Key’s Reflections
Key also updated on the status of the co-members left behind by Jonghyun, mentioning:
“Taemin finished yesterday’s concert magnificently. We are all doing well on our own and taking care of ourselves.”
Continuing, Key shared his regret about the late idol’s passing while expressing gratitude for the gifts Jonghyun left them:
“As we got older, I sometimes have this kind of thought once in a while, if we cherish and respect each other more like we do now, wouldn’t we feel less regretful about the time that had passed, of course, even these thoughts are one of the great gifts that hyung left behind for us.”
Lastly, he thanked Jonghyun again and conveyed love for him:
“We who have passed hyung’s age, have become more solid-hearted and becoming children who are honest with their feelings. Thank you.
“Every year, when a new year comes, I think of you a lot, I hope you’re doing well there, I love you and miss you always,

Minho Keeps His Promise to Jonghyun
Before Key, Minho also shared past photos of Jonghyun along with his message. He particularly assured him about their promise to take care of the late idol’s family while he’s away:
“This year, I miss hyung even more.
I always miss you, remember you, and talk to you a lot. After a long time, I met your mother while I was on my way to visit you. I comforted your mother so don’t worry!
There are a lot of people saying they miss you so much. Just letting you know. I hope hyung also thinks about me sometimes and see you soon.”
In these heartfelt messages, SHINee demonstrates that, despite the passage of time, the love and connection with Jonghyun remain intact. Each word serves as a reminder of a lost but never-forgotten companion.
